Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

Hello everyone!

I have been tagged by the lovely Emily (A Minority of One Lunacy) to do this tag/award. You should check out her blog - she is amazing at drawing might I add!

The rules are to think the blogger who tagged you, answer the questions left for you, make 10 new questions, tag 10 other bloggers to do the award and put the logo somewhere on your blog.

Here are the questions she asked me with my answers.

Q1. Do you like tea? This is important. I am British. Say yes.
A. I love tea! I prefer tea without milk but I like both :)

Q2. Why am I your favourite person ever?
A. Haha I love your blog xx

Q3. Do you like Benedict Cumberbatch? Seriously. It's kind of a rhetorical question because there's only one answer.
A. I don't really have an opinion. He's a great actor, and I don't dislike him, but I on't love him either.

Q4. What three things do you actually do with your time most?
I dance, watch youtube videos and sleep.

Q5. Do you like Marmite? (This is a test, and there's only one answer to let you pass.
A. I have never had Marmite, actually. I'm Australian so I've only had vegemite.

Q6. What is the point of life? Like we're dying ever since we are conceived and then we just rot so I'm just pretty curious. Enlighten me.
A. I'm a Christian, so I believe there is a life after death with God. I'm sorry if that doesn't get rid of your curiosity haha!

Q7. Tell us three things about you. One that you've never told anyone, one that we don't know, and one that's reeeally embarrassing.
A. Ummm...
Something I've never told anyone: I've never told anyone about the time my cousin walked into a muddy drain under my grandparent's farm driveway because he made me promise to never tell...and now I'm telling the whole internet...
Something no-one knows (except my school friends): My parents are divorced.
One of my most embarrassing moments: I can't remember many super embarrassing moments (my mind probably erased them from my conscious mind because they are so embarrassing) but I do remember being in my second year of primary school and wetting my pants. I refused to stand up out of my chair because people would see.

Q8. Who do you think the most important person in the world is? (Apart from me. Or just me.)
A. Me! (duh!) I'm kidding. This is a hard one. The most important person to me is my family (let's pretend they count as one person).

Q9. What is the thing you: one, hate most about yourself, two hate most about one of your friends and three, hate most about the world? (You can do this with love instead if you're sickeningly sweet.)
A. I'm going to do the love version of this question :)
Myself: I love that I'm compassionate and caring.
Friends: All my friends are super nice and always there for me.
World: I love how nice some people are. Yes there are lots of rude, stingy people, so when you meet someone new from around the world who is genuinely nice, it makes me feel really happy.

Q10. What are three things on your bucket list?
A. I actually did a post on this two days ago, and I included climbing the Harbour Bridge, going on a holiday with friends and visit Europe.

I tag:

Natisha (Fluttering Mad)
Tiegan (Tiegan Lucy)
Brooke (Brooke Wrote)
Eltoria (Eltoria Secrets)
Emily and Hannah (Emily and Hannah)

(Sorry if you've been tagged already! I didn't know.)

My questions for you are:

1. What is your biggest pet peeve?
2. If you could change anything in your life right now, what would it be?
3. What is your most embarrassing story?
4. What is something no-one knows about you?
5. If you had to rename your blog, what would you name it? (Sorry, but I'm curious!)
6. 1f you had $1000 to spend, what would you buy?
7. What is your favourite colour to paint your nails?
8. Do you pee in the shower? (There are two types of people in this world, people who pee in the shower, and liars - Jenna Marbles)
9. What is your favourite piece of furniture in your house? (Bed excluded.)
10. What is your biggest hope/dream that you want to accomplish?

Let me know in the comments below if you have done this tag (particularly if I tagged you) so that I can check it out!

A Peek At My Bucket List

Hello everyone,

I saw this done on Crystal's blog (Crystallized Daisies) and I found it super interesting to read, and it made me want to make one too. You should check out her blog too – I love her posts! This isn't my whole bucket list, this is just a selection of things.

1. Travel with a Friend/s

Photo from: WeHeartIt
I would love to do this! Whether I go with a friend or a group of friends all the way to another country, or go somewhere within the state/country, I think it'd be great fun!

2. Climb the Harbour Bridge

Photo from: WeHeartIt
Now, I already know that this would terrify me, but I've already driven, walked and gone in a train across the bridge, why not climb over? I would love to get to the top and look at Sydney Harbour from 141 metres high. (Yes I did have to look up how tall the bridge was.)

3. Visit Europe

I don't care where, I just want to go anywhere in Europe before I die. I would love to travel to Greece or France, but I'd also want to visit London. If I went to Europe, I would try to go to as many different places as possible. To visit somewhere with a busy environment, I'd go to London. For a sunnier place, I'd go to Greece, and I'd go to France to visit the landmarks.

4. Move into an Apartment

I love interior designing, and I think it'd be so exciting to move out into my own space. I'd be able to design it how I want and that thought makes me really happy. Don't get me wrong – I love living with my family and I'd always have them around to visit, but moving out is a pretty exciting idea for me.

Let me know what's on your bucket list in the comments below.

Neutral Eyes // Makeup Tutorial

Hello everyone,

So today I wanted to post something makeup related, so I thought I would do a tutorial on neutral coloured eyes. This look could be super casual for an everyday neutral colour eyeshadow, or you could add winged eyeliner and make the look fancier or bolder.

In this, I use the Revlon ColourStay 12 Hour Eyeshadow in Blushed Wines (05)

and the Maybelline Expert Wear  Eyeshadow in Natural Smokes.

To start off, I just used a small eyeshadow brush to apply the lightest shade of the Revlon palette all over my lids. This gave my eyes a nice, slightly sparkly base.
After that, I used a bigger eyeshadow brush to apply the second darkest colour of the Revlon palette all over my lids.
In the outer corner of my eye, I used the shade in the middle on the right hand side of the Maybelline palette to give my eyes a browner colour.
For my crease, I used the darkest matte colour of the Maybelline eyeshadow palette and just blended it into my crease to give my eyes some more definition. I also used this colour to line my upper lash line with an angled brush. I smudged it out with my finder to make it look more natural.

To finish off, I highlighted my brow bone with the light, matte colour on the Maybelline palette and put two thin coats of my Maybelline Pump Up mascara.

I love this eye look, it's very pretty yet super natural. To dress it up, you could make it smokier, or simply add a bolder eyeliner.

How To Maintain Fitness // My Workout Routine

Hello everyone,

Sometimes, it can be hard to motivate yourself to workout. I have been in the situation where I could either sit in my pajamas in bed or get some exercise, and I have chosen to stay in bed. I do enjoy exercising, because I love the rushed feeling you get when you finish. You feel as if you could do anything and be productive, and you feel super healthy.

I try and do some exercise 2-3 times a week (not including my dance classes). You don't have to do heaps of hardcore toning exercises, it can literally just be walking for 30 minutes of walking on a treadmill. I thought I would show you guys my workout routine.

**My workouts aren't always exactly this, but most of the times it is this or very similar**

1. Warm Up

To warm up, I like to do 10 star jumps, 10 high knees running and 10 but-kicks facing one wall, then the next wall, then the third wall, fourth wall and the first wall again. This is just a quick and efficient way to get warm.

2. Strengthening Exercises

In a regular workout, not a long one, I focus mainly on abs and arms. For my abs I tend to do 25 crunches, which are like sit-ups but you only go half way up, 25 sit-ups and I sit in a V-sit for 20 seconds. For my arms, I just do 15 push-ups - pretty self explanatory. To finish, I just do lunges for 1 minute.

3. Stretch

At first, I just do small stretches. I stretch my hamstrings by touching my toes, and I stretch my sides by standing with my legs apart and reaching over my head and bending sideways.

For some more advanced stretching, I just do the splits. I do hip flexer on both legs and then I stand with one leg about a metre in front of the other and reach for my front leg. Then I just sit in over splits for 30 seconds each and go into the splits. (For the record, I'm not down in the splits on my left leg yet - it's very frustrating.) For my middle splits, I lie on the floor with my but touching the wall and my legs on the wall straight up. Then I open my legs (lets all pretend that doesn't sound weird) and let gravity push my legs closer into the middle splits. I like to stay there for one whole song, because as weird as it seems, I find this stretch relaxing.

I personally do not do anything like jogging or running, simply because I do improve my endurance at dance, because I am working hard for a long time. If you add in running to your workout routine, I suggest doing it in between your warm up and strengthening exercises.

Also, I strongly suggest exercising while listening to music. i have a workout playlist on my phone, full of upbeat songs that make you want to dance.

When I workout, I generally wear plain black 3/4 leggings, a singlet top and I wear sneakers sometimes but I take them off to stretch.

The Love/Hate Tag

Hello everyone,

I was tagged by the lovely Crystal (Crystallized Daisies) to do the 'Love/Hate Tag'. (You should definitely check out her blog, I love it!) Basically, the rules are to list 10 things you love and 10 things you hate, then tag 10 bloggers to do the same. Let's get started with the tag :)

10 Things I Love:

1. Rainy Days
I absolutely love rainy days – especially when I am curled up inside with a fluffy blanket and my laptop or a good book. I love listening to the rain hitting my bedroom window, its so peaceful and relaxing. I also love the smell of rain (is that weird?).

2. Hot Baths
I am a sucker for a hot bath with a yummy smelling bath bomb. It is one of my favourite things to do on a cold day.

3. Road Trips
I love being in the car for a long time, listening to music and watching the scenery whiz by outside my window. For me, road trips are a good time to forget any worries or leave them behind as you drive away.

4. “Cry-Laughing” with Friends
If you have never had a time where you and a good friend have started laughing so much you are rolling on the floor with tears in your eyes, then you are missing out. It is one of the funniest memories you will have in the future.

5. Waking Up to the Sun
No matter how little sleep I get the night before, I always feel happy and refreshed when I wake up because of the sun shining on my face. It reminds me of the holidays and instantly cheers me up, even if I'm already feeling fine.

6. Being Around People I Love
No, I'm not being romantic when I say this – I mean my friends and family. I love being around people who make me feel happy and important, and these people are my family and friends.

7. Dancing
Whether there is music playing or not, I love dancing. I've been caught doing pirouettes in the kitchen while waiting for the kettle to boil and jamming to some music while brushing my teeth.

8. Texting for a Long Time
I love when you can text someone and the conversation never gets awkward or ends early. It makes me feel loved by the person texting me.

9. Mint
I love everything that smells minty and tastes minty! I love picking mint leaves and sitting them on my desk to smell while I work.

10. Re-Discovering a Song
I love when you shuffle your whole music playlist and it chooses a song you used to love but had forgotten it existed. When that happens to me, I literally listen to that song on repeat.

10 Things I Hate:

1. “Come Here!”
I hate when people are in another room and then they call for you to come to them, but you're busy. They insist it's important, yet they can't bother actually coming to you.

2. Overly Confident People
Don't get me wrong – I think it's good to be confident, just don't be so confident you are cocky, rude and think you are better than everyone else.

3. Waiting for Transport in the Rain
I hate waiting for a bus or train in the pouring rain when there is no shelter. Urgh it's so annoying.

4. Noisy Places
I hate being in noisy places, even more so when you have to yell to talk to the person next to you.

5. Textbooks
I hate text books! It's just endless pages full of mind-numbing questions that you have to answer in class/at home.

6. Itchy Tights
It is the worst feeling when your tights are making your legs itchy. It always happens at school which is extremely annoying.

7. Arguments
I'm all for peace, and I always feel awful when I witness/am in an argument.

8. Paper Cuts
These are the WORST! They sting so badly! One of the worst things you could say to me is “It's just a paper cut, it can't be that bad.”

9. Lukewarm Tea
I love hot tea, I love ice tea, just not tea in the middle.

10. Folding Clothes
I find folding clothes so boring, but I still do it.

Now I have to tag 10 bloggers to do this tag. You don't have to do it (it may not fit your blog theme or you might just not want to do it), but if you do let me know in the comments below! Sorry if you have already been tagged/done this tag :)

Review : Maybelline Matte Maker

Hello everyone,

On Tuesday, I did a post where I said I might do a review on the Maybelline Matte Maker after I tried it out. Yesterday, I had the perfect opportunity to try it out, as I had a concert and I used it to keep my makeup on for 10 hours. It did a great job, so I thought I would review it.

This powder looks so nice and smooth in its case, because it is so fine. When you apply it over foundation, it doesn't get rid of the fresh, dewy look of the foundation, while still mattifying your T-zone nicely. It doesn't look cakey if you use it correctly (because obviously its going to look cakey if you over do it). This is a very sheer powder, so it doesn't have much coverage. That's fine if you are just using this powder to eliminate shine, but it isn't the best at covering blemishes. This is why I used it along with a foundation underneath.

The powder also sets your makeup really well. I applied my foundation and concealer early in the day, and this pressed powder kept it on my face all day!

I recommend this pressed powder to anyone with oily skin. I don't recommend this powder for dry skin, however. It is great at absorbing oils on your skin, but I have heard that it clings to dry patches on your skin.

Mini Makeup Haul

Hello everybody,

The other day I went shopping to buy some makeup, so I thought I would share what I bought in a mini haul.

The first thing I bought was a new pressed powder, as I dropped my Stay Matte powder and it smashed. Sad, I know. I bought the Maybelline Matte Maker Mattifying Powder, and it cost $11.95. I wanted to try another powder because even though the Stay Matte worked, it wasn't amazing. I tried this out after I bought it, and it looked really nice with and without foundation. It's too early to tell how well it works, maybe I will review it sometime in the future.

The next thing I bought was a liquid eyeliner. I wanted to buy one with a firmer tip, to make it easier to use. That is why I purchased the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner, and I got it for free as there was a 3 for 2 sale on all things Maybelline. If there wasn't a sale, it would be $14.95 I tried it out, and I find it much easier to apply compared to my old one, which was another Maybelline one.

I also purchased the Face of Australia Face Base Primer, and it was $12.95. I didn't have one before, so I've been on the look out for a good, affordable one. This primer looks pretty good, but I haven't fully tried it out yet. It feels light on my skin, and it contains SPF - which is a huge bonus.

I also had to buy a new Maybelline Fit Me concealer, and it cost $14.95.  My old one had run out, as I mentioned in my Product Empties post. I love this concealer, its cheap and works incredibly, so I wanted to repurchase it.

The last thing on my list I didn't actually buy. It was a free gift from Maybelline for their 100th birthday. (I had no idea Maybelline had been around for so long! My grandma would have used Maybelline! Wow.) I was very excited to open the gift, and when I did, I saw this mascara. It's the Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Express Mascara. I was super eager to test it out, and it works amazingly. It really adds volume and length to your eyelashes. I also love the packaging, its very pretty and eye-catching. I love the packaging of all the Maybelline mascaras. They are all so colourful and bright.

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed this shopping trip :)

No Heat Natural Curls

Hello everyone,

I love curly hair; its super pretty and I love how curls bounce. I don't have curly hair, and I try to avoid using heat on my hair. Less heat on your hair keeps it healthy, soft and growing. However, there are other ways to curl your hair (without heat), and I'm going to show you my favourite way. Sleeping in two Dutch braids. For looser curls, sleep in only one Dutch braid (I sleep with two).

How to Tie Two Dutch Braids:

1. Start by parting the hair; you can use a side part or a middle part, it doesn't matter.
2. Now part the hair the hair into two sections by tracing a line down the back of the head.
3. Tie up the right side so it doesn’t tangle with the left.
4. Take a section of hair, on the left side, and divide it into three sections.
5. Cross the side strands under the middle, pulling in hair as you go. (To tie two French braids, cross the strands over the middle.)
6. Tie off the end the braid when you reach the ends of your hair.
7. Repeat steps 4 through 6 with the right side. Remember, it doesn't have to be neat, because you will be sleeping in them, but make sure they are tight.

In the morning, when you wake up, take out the braids. Brush through your hair with your fingers, not a hairbrush because you don't want to make your hair frizzy.

Now that you have natural, messy curls, you can do anything you want with your hair. You could leave it out, have it half up half down or just put it up in a ponytail. Some of my favourite things to do with these curls are:

- Small braid headband

Tie two small braids in your hair from hair behind your ears, wrap them over your head and bobby pin them in place.

- Messy bun

These curls give a messy bun a really nice texture. I, personally have struggles when tying messy buns, because I'm a ballerina so I tie my buns neatly. These curls make my messy buns look messy without looking straggly.
