How To Be A Morning Person

Hello everyone,

I am a morning person, with the exception of school mornings of course, because I love relaxing or being productive in the morning. I find I am the most productive in the morning, sitting in my room with the sun pouring in through my windows. Maybe I find it easier to get things done in the morning because there is no time pressure, as I still have my whole day ahead of me.

Lot's of people, especially at my age, just want to sleep in all day. I definitely have days where I don't want to move from my bed, but if I've had a good night's sleep I'll be up and doing things in the morning. I thought I would share a few of my tips for how to have a good morning and how to be a morning person.

1. Wake Up To The Sun

It is way easier to wake up if the sun is shining on me. It brightens my mood, which is a little odd because I love the rain, but it does!

2. Have a Yummy Breakfast

You need something to motivate you to get out of bed, and the best thing for that is a yummy breakfast! A healthy, yummy breakfast is the way to go. If you have an unsubstantial or super unhealthy breakfast, you are more inclined to feel 'bludgey' instead of ready to get things done. I'm not saying you shouldn't ever have an unhealthy breakfast, but if you want to be productive, go for a healthier option.

3. Make Your Bed

If you make your bed in the morning, it gets you moving and you blood pumping, so it wakes you up faster. I'm not saying making your bed is exercise, but it is a way to start moving like a regular person, rather than a bed-headed zombie!

4. Write a To Do List

I enjoy writing lists, because they help me get things done just so that I can tick them off. They help you to organise your thoughts onto paper, and keep you from getting stressed. There is no need to get stressed because you think you have more than you really need to do.

5. Drink

I love drinking my favourite 'morning drink' in the morning. This could be juice, tea, coffee, smoothie or anything. My personal favourites are smoothies in the Summer, and tea in the Winter.

I hope these tips help you at least a little bit!

p.s sorry about the darkish photos, I took them at night (that was a mistake!) and editing the brightness made them start to look really filtered and not how I wanted them to look. Sorry! x

The Lazy Day Tag

Hello everyone,

I read someone's Lazy Day Tag, and I found it very interesting to read, so I thought why not do it on my blog, too? My last post was a health and fitness post, so now I'm doing the polar opposite and answering the Lazy Day Tag questions. Enjoy!

1. What is your lazy day skincare routine?

Most of my skincare routine stays the same, see it HERE, but when I'm feeling lazy I love using the Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Repairing Lotion. I love this because I am very lazy when i comes to moisturizing my body, and this product keeps your skin feeling soft and hydrated for a whole week! The bottle doesn't lie, guys!

2. What is your lazy day makeup?

If I'm not leaving the house, I wont wear any makeup, but if I am, I'll just pop a little bit of concealer under my eyes. This helps me to look more awake and alert, but it's not too much makeup.

3. What is your lazy day hairstyle?

Definitely a high ponytail. I tie ponytails when I can't be bothered doing anything any nicer on my hair. I've tied ponytails a lot, so I've had lot's of practice and can tie them easily and quickly, which is what I need on a lazy day.

4. What's your lazy day outfit?

Probably leggings and a sweater if I have to look somewhat presentable, or if I can stay home, a t-shirt and track pants.

5. What's your lazy day scent?

I wouldn't wear perfume or body spray when I'm having a lazy day, but I do like to light a candle. I generally go for the sweet smelling candles on a lazy day.

6. What's your lazy day pampering product?

Definitely a facemask. At the moment I am loving the Formula 10.0.06 facemasks.

7, Your Lazy Day Food/Snack?

I love having toasted sandwiches. I have no idea why, but I always crave them on lazy days. Ham, cheese and tomato or chicken and avocado! Yum!

8. Your lazy day drink?

This has to be tea. Whether its a fruity tea, herbal tea or even just regular English Breakfast tea, I'l be drinking it on a lazy day (and most other days, too)!

Some of these answers may change depending on how lazy I really am, but usually these will all be pretty exact. If you do this tag, let me know in the comments below because I'd love to see all you guys's answers.

How To Keep Healthy

Hello everyone,

Recently, I've had trouble keeping motivated to stay healthy. It's the middle of the year, the start of a new term and I always feel like eating junk and I feel to busy to exercise. So if you want to keep motivated and healthy, keep reading! I hope these tips help you as much as they helped me.

1. Have a Motivation Folder

One of the hardest parts about exercising and being healthy, is getting motivated. I made a photo folder on my phone called 'Motivation' and filled it with photos of yummy healthy food, flexible ballerinas and quotes. Looking through this makes me super motivated to exercise and eat healthily.

2. Handle The Cravings

We always have cravings, sweet and salty. Mine are usually sweet cravings but I will be sharing recipes to handle sweet and salty cravings.

Something I love having when I am craving something sweet, is a smoothie. In my smoothies, I put half a cup of plain greek yoghurt, one cup of light milk and one cup of frozen blueberries. You can modify this or add whatever fruits you like (but I'd stay away from citrus as it may curdle the milk).

If you are craving something salty, I would suggest having crackers with toppings such as cheese, tuna or hummus. I personally prefer cheese on my crackers.

If you are feeling a little peckish and you want a healthy snack that isn't too big or filling, fruit is the way to go. You can eat it with something, like apple and peanut butter, or carrots and dip, or you could have it plain.

3. Exercise with Music

Music makes everything more fun in my opinion, and this applies to working out. Create a playlist of songs that are up beat and make you want to dance, and make it the length of your usual workouts. I have a playlist that is 90 minutes, and when the music stops, I stop exercising/stretching.

4. Find The Right Time

Some people prefer exercising in the morning, some prefer in the evening, and some exercise late at night. Finding a time of day to workout adds structure to your workout routine and that can help you to remember to exercise. I like working out in the morning, but because of school I usually workout in the afternoon. Anytime of day is fine as long as it suits your schedule. I even have a friend who stretches in the middle of the night when she can't sleep!

I hope you found this post useful - even writing this motivated me!

'No Makeup' Makeup Look

Hello everyone,

Many people like wearing/applying makeup, but sometimes there are occasions where you would wear little/no makeup, such as school. That's why I am sharing with you a 'no makeup' look for the times where you only need natural or light makeup.

First off, use BB cream instead of foundation. BB cream is a lot lighter than foundation, or if you don't have BB cream, tinted moisturizer is a just as good option. The BB cream step isn't necessary, so if you don't want to wear it, you don't have to. The BB cream I used is the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector.

Next apply concealer and powder. Make sure the powder you are using is a setting pressed powder not a powder foundation, because a powder foundation over BB cream will look heavier and more cakey. My concealer I used was the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer, and I used the Maybelline Matte Maker Pressed Powder.

After you have done the base, use a cream blush on the apples of your cheeks. I find that a cream blush looks more natural, but I don't have one so I just used a tinted lip balm and rubbed it on my cheeks. (That might not be good but it worked haha.) I used the Maybelline Baby Lips Glow in the colour Mixed Berry.

For my eyes, all I am doing is applying 1 coat of mascara, with the Maybelline Mega Plush mascara. I am filling in my eyebrows with the dark brown colour on the Maybelline Expert Wear Natural Smokes palette.

To finish off this look, I am applying the same Baby Lips from before on my lips.

Current Music Favourites

Hello everyone,

Listening to music is one of my favourite things to do. That's part of the reason I love road trips so much, as I spend them relaxing with my music playing. When I listen to music, my imagination runs wild. I don't know if everyone secretly does this, or I'm just weird, but I'll pretend I'm in a movie and the song is playing in the background of the movie, or I'm in a music video.

I've seen a few bloggers do this post and I found it interesting to read, so I've decided to do one myself. Here is a list of some of my favourite songs at the moment. Some are some old ones that I've always loved, some are new ones I've only heard recently, but I love all of them.

What's In My Bag?

Hello everybody,

Firstly, I'd just like to apologize for not posting on Sunday, but I was ill and unable to concentrate on writing a post.

It's the holidays, which means I have been out and about and have needed to keep my bag packed so that when I leave, I can just grab it and go. No packing, just grab and go. I don't do this during the school term, because I have my school bag and I don't need a handbag as often. That's why I've decided to do a What's In My Bag post. Enjoy!

My bag is a very small bag with a long handle. It can be worn on your shoulder or across your body. I purchased this bag from City Beach, and it is a Billabong bag. I really like this bag, because even though it is small, it can fit a lot of things as it can get wider due to it's design.

Inside, it has three main pockets, and the middle one is sealed with a zip. This is where I keep my phone, as it is the safest pocket. I also attach my key to the zipper so I don't lose it, because I have lost my house key way too many times!

In the back pocket, I keep my wallet. My wallet takes up most of the space, but I can fit a pen and notebook in with it, for if I ever need to write something down like a  blog post idea or a 'To Do' list. The notebook I keep is a little A6 (I think?) notebook from Typo and I think it is the cutest notebook ever. It has Snoopy and a doughnut on the front and it says "you're the sprinkles on my donut". The last thing in this pocket, are my headphones. I store these wrapped up in a tiny side pocket. I wrap them with a little velcro strip so that they don't get tangled up.

In the last pocket, I keep random little bits and bobs. I keep a spare hair tie and clip for if my hair gets annoying during the day, and I keep a lip balm for when I have sore, dry lips. I also keep a pack of tissues, for emergency situations.
